Frequently asked questions
How do I sign in?
Enter your email address and we send a 6-digit code to it; enter the code in the app. There is no password to remember. If you turned on a cloud password or two-step verification, the app asks for it after the code. A new account is created the first time you sign in with an address.
The code does not arrive
- Check the Spam and Promotions folders; the email’s subject is “mr.enzo - Код подтверждения”.
- Make sure the address is spelled correctly.
- A code is valid for 10 minutes. You can ask for a new one, up to 5 times in 10 minutes.
- Still nothing? Write to us from that address.
How do I find people?
Search by username or name, or use “Find Friends from Contacts”: it checks the phone numbers and email addresses in your address book once and shows who is already on mr.enzo. Nothing from your address book is stored. You can also add someone in person by scanning the QR code on their screen.
Are my messages and calls private?
Yes. Chats, group and channel posts, attachments and calls are end-to-end encrypted: only the people in the conversation can read or hear them, not us. To make sure nobody is in the middle, compare the safety number with your contact in the chat menu. Stories are the exception — they are not end-to-end encrypted. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
What is the offline network and how do I use it?
When there is no internet, iPhones with mr.enzo nearby can pass encrypted messages to each other directly over Bluetooth and Wi‑Fi — no mobile network or Wi‑Fi router needed. If the recipient is not nearby, other mr.enzo users’ phones can carry the message along for up to 24 hours (“pigeon post”); they cannot read it.
- Keep Bluetooth and Wi‑Fi turned on (they do not need to be connected to a network) and allow Bluetooth and Local Network access for mr.enzo.
- It works best between people who have already chatted in mr.enzo, so their phones know each other’s encryption keys. Without the internet you can pair in person with the QR code on the offline network screen.
- iOS limits background radio use, so keep the app open when you rely on the offline network.
- In Settings you can choose Auto, Always or Off. While it is on, nearby people can see your display name.
Calls do not ring or do not connect
- Allow notifications for mr.enzo and check that Focus or Do Not Disturb is not silencing calls.
- Allow microphone access (and camera for video calls) in iOS Settings → mr.enzo.
- Update to the latest version of the app.
- On restrictive networks calls go through our relay server and may take a few seconds longer to connect.
How do I report or block someone?
Touch and hold a message and choose Report, or open a person’s profile and choose Report or Block. Groups, channels and stories have Report in their menu. A blocked person can no longer message or call you, see your stories or see when you are online. We review every report within 24 hours and remove content and users that break the Terms of Use.
How do I delete my account?
Open Settings → Delete Account and confirm by typing your username. Your account, profile, contacts, files, group posts and waiting messages are deleted from our servers, and the app’s data is removed from your iPhone. This cannot be undone. If you cannot open the app, email us from your account’s email address and we will delete it for you.
Can I call emergency services?
No. mr.enzo cannot place emergency calls. Use your phone’s regular calling in an emergency.
Which devices are supported?
iPhone with iOS 18 or later.
